I have installed via PowWeb.com on their server. After I login, I get the following message (see below). I have since added a blank index.html file via Dreamweaver to both the Blog folder and the wp-admin folder but still can’t get to the management page.

Here is the message I am getting:
    Directory has no index file.

Browsing this site or directory without an index file is prohibited.
If you are the site’s webmaster, you can remedy this problem by creating a default HTML page with one of the following names:

    index.html
    index.htm
    default.htm
    Default.htm
    home.html
    Home.chtml

I have posted a Trouble Ticket with PowWeb but they have not yet answered me. Thanks for your help. In the installation, I asked that they create a database for me. I have not checked that.

  • Are you sure that PHP is available in your server?

Yes. I have another WordPress blog on a different web site with this same PowWeb server. That works fine. Thanks for your input.

The technician at PowWeb did the following to resolve this issue:

he pointed DirectoryIndex to index.php by creating .htaccess file. Now, able to access WordPress Web site at https://mycarworx.com/blog/ without any issue.

    Thanks for your help.
