  • What are the two URI values in admin > Options > General?

Are you using any kind of redirects? (parked domain, pointing somwhere else, redirected domain and stuff like that)

    Both are https://www.topsoft.be/myblog
I host my own server, nothing is redirected. Normally my users access the weblog via a link on every page, just as my other pages.

Just a reminder: “myblog” and “MyBlog” is not the same for a server!!!

Visiting this link: https://www.topsoft.be/myblog – everything works.
    This one doesn’t work: https://www.topsoft.be/MyBlog/index.php

    you completely lost me here…

My site is running on IIS 6, it’s the first time I hear that windows makes a difference between upper- and lowercase.
But I see that it works now, I have changed manually the links in my site (they were generated by Frontpage and so the links had the same case as my folders in explorer).

So I suppose it is WordPress that makes a distinction in case, because for the server upper- or lowercase is exactly the same (all my other links work, whatever combination of lower- and uppercase I use). It also has nothing to do with MySql or PHP, because other pages (like Gallery, which is also PHP and MySql) just work fine with uppercase).

Two possibilities: OR wordpress should be patched so that every link gets translated to lowercase automatically OR you should put a warning in the installation docs that wordpress is not compatible with Frontpage generated links.

Anyway, the problem is solved and I thank you for your quick reply.

wordpress is not compatible with Frontpage generated links

No decent script is “compatible” with FP.
Are you editing WP files with FP? (don’t do it)

    (@topsoftbe)

Moshu, I do not use FP to edit WP files, but I used it to create linkbars in my website. Two of the links point to my 2 blog pages, hence the problem.
But I insist that you should mention the upper/lowercase problem somewhere in the FAQ or the installation guide. I am surely not the only one with this problem.

Anyway, you can close this thread, it’s clear where the problem lies and what has to be done to solve it.

In the mean time I will start a new thread on special characters for RSS feeds…see you there hopefully…

    Glad you sorted it out.
We don’t close threads (unless something goes wrong).
However, you could mark it “resolved” – up below the title.
