    Hello,

After a mostly uneventful WordPress migration, today I noticed that the shortlinks (using “Get Shortlink” in the post editor) expands out to my old domain. I’ve tried changing the Permalinks, but the shortlinks always go to the old domain.

Does anyone know how to repair this?

***UPDATE*** After further checking, it appears this has something to do with the Jetpack plugin – WP.me Shortlinks

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Dave,

I am sorry for the inconvenience.
I would like to follow up if the issue still persists?

Just for your information, after import, to save permalinks twice, you only have to click Settings on your dashboard > Permalinks > Save Changes for 2 times without editing post name or anything.

    Best,

Hi, I am having the same problem. I deactivated jetpack shortlinks but all urls seem broken after migration (not the main one or wp-admin, though).

Jetpack printed out a message asking me If I changed the domain, I clicked yes since it detected well the changes but… it doesn’t work.

    Which was the solution, DaveInTrinity?

    Thanks

    Hi IntermediaVS,

    Thank you for reaching out.
Have you saved permalinks twice after import?

Yes I did. Is there a solution or should I try to import again my file?

    Hi IntermediaVS,

Could you check if the default permalink (https://www.dropbox.com/s/fn230repwxm1ryf/Screen%20Shot%202015-10-22%20at%208.16.27%20PM.png?dl=0) is working?
If yes, please make sure that you have mod_rewrite enabled on your apache install.

    Best,
    Pim

    Hi Pim,

You are right, when the default permalinks are activated everything seems to work smoothly (I didn′t know that).
How can I fix the URLS when the /post-name/ option is selected?

    Thanks

    Hi IntermediaVS,

You may need to enable mod_rewrite on your apache install.
The easiest way is to contact your hosting to do it for you.

Hi, apologies for not following up sooner. It was the Jetpack shortlink issue I described along with a caching issue in Chrome.

What I did (your mileage may vary) was to go to Jetpack–>Settings, scroll down to WP.me Shortlinks and deactivate it, then re-activate it. That, in itself, didn’t seem to do much. I then used CCleaner and cleared the caches and temp files for Chrome, IE, etc.

After that, the shortlinks seemed to work just fine. I now believe the browsers were just caching the old domain. I, unfortunately, did not check this on another computer prior to clearing the cache, so I can’t verify it.

Thank you all for your input and let me know if this works for you.
