I have a blog that i recently moved from a hosting company to another hosting company to make story shorter i did just make a zip of home directory and uploaded it to my new account and then exported sql database
and imported it to the new account and now i am facing a problem with pages i begin on one page and then see only older pages ( Nav ) at the bottom and i click older page and it gives me 404 error page 2 not found on this server ? what could be the problem and how can i fix it…

Any help much appreciated Thank you all for your help in advanced..

    this is the error message.

    Not Found

The requested URL /page/2/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

so this must happen on all pages exept the page i start on ?? if that makes sense..

  • It sounds as if the .htaccess file didn’t get transfered. If you just zipped everything up, it can skip hidden files (ones beginning with a dot).

Just go to Settings > Permalinks to regenerate it (if it can’t create the file, it will give you the contents to create the file yourself)
