• Hello! We moved our site from .ee domaine to .com about 9 months ago, but still some plugins try to reach our .ee version. Here are some of them:
Jetpack: when trying to watch statistcs it opens next link:
    https://wordpress.com/stats/day/mekoome.com?site=mekoome.ee
OK, it works fine – but what for this mekoome.ee in the end?
WPSuper Cache in CDN settings takes https://mekoome.ee as site URL by default and offers to change it if it is not wrong. Why? I installed it already after moving!
And the biggest problem is with Estonian Banklinks for Woocommerce – it tekse return URL as https://mekoome.ee/wc-api/WC_Banklink_Maksekeskus_Redirect_Gateway/ and dont let to change it – field is inactive. After payment our buyers are getting Error page with URL https://mekoome.comwc-api/WC_Banklink_Maksekeskus_Redirect_Gateway/ and we never get automatically messages about orders made.
We made all neede actions including Better Search replace for URLs, but it seemes that somethere in database still resist old URLs. How can we change that?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • The best/easiest way I’ve found over the years to fix a problem like this is to us a plugin such as Better search replace https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/better-search-replace/ and have it search for only “.ee” without the quotes then replace it with “.com” again without the quotes.

Hope this helps. Once you find a solution please tag the thread as resolved.

Thank you! I checked again with Better search replace and it found 483 more cells in Wp_posts. But I doubt a little bit if I would make changes from .ee to .com – won’t it change all links in some of my posts there I just give external links to some .ee resources? I mean it will change not only mekoome.ee, but let it say for example delfi.ee to delfi.com. I have some of such links in my blog posts..

At the same time I still have mekoome.com/ee language version. And I think such a replace can damage it as well

You could always search for the entire domain. not just the “.ee” using the plugin.

I’ve done it before. It doesn’t show any old links anymore. But problem persists. It only shows many old mekoome.ee links remaining if I switch on option to search throuh GUID folders, but as I know, it is prohibited to make changes there.
And at the same time plugin can not search in wp_options tables – shows mistake every time.

This is an issue with how your theme or page builder handles urls in the content then. You may have no choice but to use a force SSL plugin such as SSL Insecure content fixer https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/ssl-insecure-content-fixer/

Before using this plugin check with your hosting provider though. some hosting providers have tools that force SSL at the server side allowing you to avoid having to use any plugin on a permanent basis.

Hope this helps. Once you find a solution that works please tag the thread as resolved.
