after post, wordpress stalls

  • when I go to wp-admin/post-new.php

    and enter in my post the page then goes to

    wp-admin/post.php

    and hangs up with a blank screen. sometimes the entry gets into the database and sometimes it doesn’t.

    It just started happening.

    I haven’t added any new plug-ins. I did have three tabs open and was simultaneously cutting and pasting in old diary entries. while one was uploading into the database I would just move to the next tab window and make the next entry there. worked fine for an hour and then this started happening.

    it happens on both the latest firefox and ie explorer. i also noticed in my phpadmin browser that overhead is getting put into several tables including wp_post2cat, wp_options, wp_postmeta

    Any ideas?
