After snippet edit, the page update button is still not clickable

I did research on this issue and I found that this was asked in this thread After snippet edit, the page update button is still unclickable – Support – Rank Math

    But there is no solution.

I’m using Blocksy theme version 1.8.90, with Stackable version 3.8.2, and of course using the latest version of Rankmath at the moment which is 1.0.116.

So as a workaround, I had to make a change on the page in order to make the Update button clickable, but this is annoying.

Also, the preview button leads to a 404 page, with the URL: domain.com/admin-folder/undefined/. I never had this issue before using Rankmath, which makes me think that maybe there is a compatibility issue.

Looking forward to your reply and help. Thank you in advance.

    My best regards,

    Hello @joe16,

Thank you for contacting the support.

Can you please confirm if you are editing the posts with the editor user account? We are already aware of the issue with the editor role and working on fixing this. We will inform you here once the issue is fixed.

However, we are not able to replicate the issue with the preview of the post. Please try disabling our plugin and let us know if the preview works fine after that.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hi @rankmathteam,

    Thank you for your reply.

“editor user account” do you mean the editor role? If yes, the answer is no, I edit the posts as an administrator.

I followed the plugin conflict check as described here https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

I checked the site health guide and troubleshooted, here is what happened:
    – I tried a fresh installation with twenty-three theme and only rankmath and I noticed that the update button is always enabled.
    – Back to my website: I tried only theme twenty-three and rankmath => the update button is disabled by default until I make a change in the builder.
    – I got back to the blocksy child theme and rankmath => always the same behavior: update disabled until I make a change in the builder. So I don’t know what is happening regarding the update button behavior.
    – Later I tried to introduce Stackbale, then I started to randomly having 404 preview pages => I guess there is a conflict between Stackable and Rankmath.

At the time of testing this, I was using Blocksy theme version 1.8.90 (free), with Stackable version 3.8.2 (pro), and of course using the latest version of Rankmath at the moment which is 1.0.116 (free).

Please note that I left a message on this thread https://support.rankmath.com/ticket/after-snippet-edit-the-page-update-button-is-still-unclickable/, but it has been removed by the bot, apparently.

Also, I encountered the same issue here https://support.rankmath.com/ticket/sitemap-page-is-not-showing/. I left a message, and it has been removed by the bot, apparently. Is there a way you can see my deleted message?

Also, I have a question and a suggestion:

    1. Is it possible to disable content optimization (the one with the focus keyword) et keep only snippets editing?
    2. Please give the option to enable/disabled Open Graph metadata, related to Twitter and Facebook. Or is it already possible to disable it?

Looking forward to your reply. Thank you in advance.

    Hello @joe16,

    1. The Update button should work fine for the Admin role. Can you please confirm if you are using a role manager plugin on your site to manage the capabilities of the users?

    2. And we are also not able to replicate the issue with the previews returning 404 when Stackable is enabled. If there is a specific Stackable block that is causing the issue, let us know so we can check on our end. You can also get in touch with Stackable’s support for this since the issue occurs after enabling their plugin.

    3. Please check the browser’s console when searching for the page and check if there are any errors logged for the wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=rank_math_search_pages&term= request.

If the error is logged then please check with your host if there is a firewall or other security setting blocking the dynamic retrieval of pages for assigning to the sitemap.

You can also ask them if the ModSecurity (ModSec) is enabled or if it’s blocking any process of Rank Math.

    4. You can disable the On-Page Analysis option in WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Role Manager to hide the content analysis test.

    5. You can modify and use the following filter to disable the OpenGraph tags: https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#remove-opengraph-tags

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello @rankmathteam,

    Thank you for your reply.

    1. I confirm that I do not use a role manager plugin. Also, just for your info: now the update button is always enabled even after submitting the change. Now I lost track of what is happening, and I will need to troubleshoot again.
    2. Regarding the 404 issue, I have already reported the issue to the Stackable team, and I’m waiting for a reply. I will let you know if I find more info about it.
    3. Thank you for the explanation. Knowing that HTML sitemap is now working, when I visit the HTML sitemap page, I don’t find the wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=rank_math_search_pages&term= request in the network tab of the Chrome dev tools. Also, there are no errors neither in the console nor in the network tab. Where can I find the request URL?
    4. Thank you. I had to enable the “Role manager” module, then disabled the “On-Page Analysis” option.
    5. Thank you, it works.

Looking forward to your reply. Thank you in advance.

    Hello @joe16,

    1. Update button should always stay enabled when our plugin is enabled. That’s the default behavior. Please check further and let us know if it becomes disabled again.
    2. Sure, let us know when the Stackable team gets back to you.
    3. If you were able to select the page for HTML sitemap and it is working fine then you will not see that error. The error appears when there is an issue with selecting a page for the HTML sitemap in its settings.

Hope that helps. Let us know if you need any further assistance.

    Hello @rankmathteam,

    Thank you for your reply.

    1. Thank you for the clarification. At least now I know what is expected. But for now, in my case, the “update” button is now enabled all the time, with and without having the Rankmath plugin enabled. I don’t know what went wrong, but it is not causing a problem, so I won’t stay on this subject. I will see how things go in the future.
    2. Yes, noted.
    3. Thank you, now I know where I have to check it. And to answer you: now there is no error when selecting a page for the HTML sitemap, and I can find the page after typing 3 characters. But at the beginning, I was not able to find any page, and the list is always empty. I don’t know what happened, but now it works. I can only say that I noticed these changes after following the troubleshooting steps. Maybe this has changed something in the background. Maybe there is a stability issue.

    Thank again for your help.

    Have a great day!

    Hello @joe16,

    1. Sure, do let us know if that behavior stays that way in the future. Since even with the Rank Math plugin disabled, the “update” button remains enabled, then there may be another area of your website that is causing that behavior which you can determine with this troubleshooting guide.

    3. At the moment, we can’t replicate the issue, so this may be just a caching issue on your end. One thing to note is that an API runs the page search via Ajax, so make sure your server security isn’t constantly blocking that API route.

With that said, if you encounter this issue again in the future, feel free to report it here and we will do our best to assist you.

    Thank you.
