After thorough searches, still can't locate "plugins" tab.

  • I’ve done hours of google searching, and dedicated the same amount of time on these forums, looking for a solution as to why my “plugins” tab does not appear or show up at all where it’s suppose to according to a number of people.
    I’ve taken a screenshot of my dashboard, I reassured I was logged in as the admin, and still no “plugins” tab appears underneath the “appearance” tab.
    I know should sign up with a web hosting partner but I’ve seen some people say that’s no the issue as to why my plugins tab does not appear at all.

    One common suggestion I’ve seen is to mess around and change the theme of the website, because some theme designers may have disabled the plugins tab. I experimented with this and still have not had any luck seeing the plugins tab appear.

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I’m not a complete amateur when it comes to web design but with the whole hosting and setting up the WordPress 4.0 download I don’t have a clue of what to do if that’s what I’m missing.

    Exactly. Your site is being hosted at wordpress.com, and you will never find a plugins tab over there. Right now you are at the Support Forums for people running self-hosted sites after downloading WordPress and plugins and whatever else from www.ads-software.com, and we all have plugin tabs.

    If you wish, you might try clicking that “Go Premium” button at the top of your Dashboard to see what that might offer, but I am still fairly certain you will never get a plugins tab working over there at wordpress.com.
