After UM update profile image upload broken

Hi there, after updating umember to current version I can no longer upload profile photos, The error is “Your photo is too small. It must be at least originalpx wide.”

On a staging site I deactivated all plugins and switched to default theme to rule out any possible conflicts. The error message I get is still the same.

I went through the docs and found this: https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/114-photo-uploads-not-working I couldn’t follow all of the reccommendations, e.g. I didn’t understand what was meant by “Reset the uploads tab on UM settings.

Of course I did play around with the upload settings in um and the resp. settings on my profile form.

The folder permissions, required software and settings on the server haven’t changed and should be ok. I did update from PHP 7.4 to 8.1 though.

The Media upload in WP media working fine.

Any ideas that might help me resolve this are very appreciated. Thx in advance for your kind help.
