    Hi

    I have just updated to the newest Yoast SEO 3.0 and after this some of the functions in the backend stopped working.

    1. I can’t press insert media
    2. When I press choose featured image it opens the media gallery in full screen and there is no option to close it again
    3. If I cover some text to place a link I can’t scroll on the page or press on the insert link box
    4. The four icons with a traffic light, a mechanic wheel, a social sign and what looks like an outlet does not show anything.

    My site is put out of action as long I can’t upload pictures and make links so I hope somebody can help me ??

    Best regards
    Sebastian

  • Please try a hard refresh first.

    Depending on your operating system all you need to do is the following key combination:
    Windows: ctrl + F5
    Mac/Apple: Apple + R or command + R
    Linux: F5

    If that doesn’t work, please open the console and check for any errors. If there are any, please post them here.

    I have tried that and I have tried to delete the cache on the page ?? It does not work.

    Are there any errors on your console? If so, could you please list them here?

    Read more about how to open the console on:
    * Chrome
    * Firefox

    I will check. If I deactivate the Yoast SEO plugin everything works perfect again. So the problem is that plugin.

    I have the same problem. Specifically, if I click the Add Link button when editing a post, the screen flashes then does nothing. Except, after it flashes I can no longer scroll on the page.

    I tried restarting, clearing cache, to no avail. Disabling the plugin, however, restored the normal behavior.

    Please fix ASAP! I just installed this on 10 sites including client sites and it would be a real problem to have to disable the SEO just to use the basic features of WordPress.

    Here are the console errors:
    Uncaught ReferenceError: wpseoMetaboxL10n is not defined
    load-scripts.php:814 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘show’ of undefined

    I have the same problems! Update sucks

    Looks like the same error in my console ??

    While you’re at it; this error message came up on mine right5 after Yoast SEO version 3.0 installed successfully;

    Your homepage cannot be indexed by search engines

    Now I’m worried!

    I am having these same problems. How do I switch back to the previous version until these issues are fixed?

    If you feel you have the same problem but are not satisfied with the support given in this thread, please open a new thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/wordpress-seo#postform

    The error Uncaught ReferenceError: wpseoMetaboxL10n is not defined can occur in two cases:
    * Your browser is still caching the old JavaScript file. You can check this by using another browser (that you haven’t used to login on your website’s admin).
    * Another plugin is called that function, which has been removed in the latest update. This is highly unlikely.

    Could you please test both cases by:
    * Trying another browser
    * Deactivating all other plugins to check if one of them is calling the removed function

    Hi again

    I just tried to use another browser (Chrome) and I deleted/cleared all data in the browser. But it was still not working.

    Hello all,

    Looks like there is another new update that may fix the problem. I did have to clear my cache and now all is well.

    Thanks Yoast support for such a fast fix! You made my day!

    I’m having the same issues on my website. Can’t insert media, can’t hyperlink, can’t scroll on the page after highlighting text. Not functional at all.
