Using Multiple Versions of WP, 3.X and 4.X

I’ve been implementing this plugin on a number of sites, hosted on three – four hosting plans. It’s a great plugin so I’d like to thank you upfront for that.

I noticed on one host, on two different versions (old and new) of WP, the backup process will start automatically after updating settings and it will not terminate, it will just continue making backups until I rename the plugin folder / disable the plugin.

I’ve used this on over 30 other sites on other hosts with no issue. Is there some sort of server/php variable that must be set to avoid this?

Also, unrelated to this loop issue, one thing I did notice is that, if I had multiple tabs open for multiple WP sites (I was installing and running the backups process on a bunch simultaneous, just flipping through tabs), the backup progress bar will appear in all windows. It’s not a big deal, it just made me confused a bit. Maybe there’s a simple fix.

Thanks again, the plugin is great.

So when you first install it everything is fine, but then after you save the settings it starts a backup right away?

Did you set a scheduled backup job during the setup? Are perhaps your host time/timezone settings incorrect?

If you take alook in your temp folder, are there any files like “backup.active” or “status.log”?

As for the cross page issue, that sounds like a browser problem, have you tried another browser?

    Hi Greg,

I don’t want to say with certainty about ‘when’ it starts, after installation and activation, I’d go directly to the settings page, not noticing on the ‘backups’ page if it had started.

I did schedule a backup, but I did so in the same manner as the sites on the hosting plans that did not cause an issue. Timezones might not be correct but I don’t see that being an issue.

As for the temp folder, I’m unsure. I deleted everything out of it.

You don’t have to go into a further headache looking into this. It’s only four sites and I can back them up manually fairly easily. The reports from other sites will be a good reminder for me to do it.

If someone has a similar issue, maybe we can reconnect. There’s no point if it’s just me. It’s budget hosting anyway, so it’s likely a problem with something they’ve set.

Thanks again for your help and the plugin, very appreciated.
