    Hi,

My Footnotes updated automatically to versin 2.0.3 today (Free version), and after that i cannot see my list of added footnotes in WordPress Admin UI, and the pages where i added footnotes doesnt show the foot notes either.

When I click on the CM Footnotes menu item it seem to be stuck on register, so when I click register now it doesnt seem to stick and when I try to click CM Footnotes to add/removed/edit foot notes it doesnt appear.

Is there somehow i can roll back to some earlier version, since I have added foot notes on quite many pages.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I have the same issue and I do have a rollback plugin I use. Unfortunately, I tried to roll back and got this error message:

It appears there are no version to select. This is likely due to the plugin author not using tags for their versions and only committing new releases to the repository trunk.

    Hi,
The problem you’re facing only seems to be appearing in PHP 8, we’ve found a solution and fixed it in the next release coming up shortly. So hopefully instead of downgrading you’ll be able to upgrade.

I saw that the ticket is resolved, however for me all the earlier added footnotes are not displaying? Is there a change in how the plugin works now compared to the earlier versions? Do i have to add shortcodes for all footnotes now?

Or do I have to buy the PRO version to add footnotes like in the good old days, eg before v2.0? Like i add them i your tooltip plugin and it automatically takes care of parsing the page and place the footnote?

We’ve learned over the course of the years that using the footnotes with the parser, so each definition has it’s own page and there’s an Index page wasn’t what vast majority of users wanted.

That’s why we’ve decided to move this functionality completely out of CM Footnotes product line (both Free and Pro). Instead we’ve integrated it into CM Tooltip line (we’re still working on it, it will be available in the next version).

The main reasons behind that decision were to focus on the functionality most users requested, to reduce the complexity and to simplify the support (potential problems with parser are now in just one plugin)

    So to conclude:
    – CM Footnotes since 2.0.0 focuses on displaying footnotes with shortcodes
    – Ability to show footnotes for parsed terms is moved to CM Tooltip

If you’d like to try the new/old footnotes functionality I can offer 50% discount. Just send us an e-mail to [email protected] and mention “I want to try footnotes display from Tooltip Glossary”

ps. Sorry, I’ve marked it as resolved as I though it was just about the error.

Ok then I understand. I thought the function was still there, did not understand that it was changed. So now I set it to resolved. Will look more into the CM Tooltip then, I use the free version already and like it. Thanks!
