I upgraded manually to 3.8 and can’t edit any pages. After reading another post on this subject i did as it suggested, namely de-activate all plug-ins and switched to a “default” theme -“2014”. Now I am unable to bring up my site at all –just get a blank page therefore can’t access my dashboard. I would restore my back-up except with no access to the dashboard I can’t even do this. My server is on my local network so I have direct access to it so if someone has any suggestions I wuuld really appreciate the advice.

Have you tried clearing browser, and server cache, different browser and computer?

If the issue persists, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems (because the hooks remain unless plugins completely removed or some plugins stick around in cached files. So by renaming the folder, you break them and force them inactive).

    – If the above troubleshooting steps fail to resolve the issue, try manually re-uploading all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones. Read the Manual Update directions first!
Always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case.

Went thru step by step as you suggested and the last did the trick.
Can’t thank you enough for your help
