After URL change, it changes back by itself

  • I changend my WordPress Adress URL and the Site Adress URL from urban-latin-milan.com to smart-dancer.com in the WordPress Dashboard.

    It first worked, but then the WordPress Adress keeps changing back by itself. I already tried to change it in myAdminphp as well as in the wp_options file of an FTP Client (wasn’t even written there before).

    When the URL changed back again, I can’t access my Backend and it redirects to the Login of the old URL, but the Frontend shows the new URL.
    If it doesn’t work today, it might magically work tomorrow for two hours, but then there’s the same problem again.

  • Some hosters overwrite the website URLs with their own information. This happens especially in WordPress-managed hostings. Do you have one of those? Then talk to the support of your hoster about this.

    If not, my thought would be that you deactivate all plugins and then change the URL again. If it does not change by itself, one of the plugins would be to blame.
