Hello,

i recently updated my website to woocommerce 4.0 and after this my emails have a lot of html code visible in them, for example the sale confirmation email literally looks like this:

< td align=”center” valign=”top”>
New Order: #6060
< td valign=”top” style=”padding: 48px 48px 32px;”>
You received an order from…< /p>
……..

i tried contacting my theme support but they couldnt help and deactivating many plugins, but that also did not help, can you please help me out??

Hi there,
I tested this on my own site and the sample HTML you offered does not correspond to what I am seeing.
For instance the New Order heading is an H1 on my site:

This leads me to suspect that you are using a customized email template in your theme.
Please change the theme to a default such as TwentyNineteen or [Storefront](https://woocommerce.com/storefront/) (which is a free theme from WooCommerce.com) and test to see if that solves the issue.

I’ve changed the theme to TwentyNineteen and still a problem. I’ve texted the email HTML on the same topic I started here:

Hi @mouli , yes i do have a customized email template, but i need that as it is customized for my store, what can i do about it?

There’s a long forum thread here with information from other users experiencing this same issue with broken email HTML:

From what we know so far, it seems to only be occurring on certain hosts — for some users changing hosts fixed the issue. Another possible workaround for now is to install an SMTP plugin on your site. There’s information about SMTP in our email FAQ here:
https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/email-faq/#section-7

Hopefully the cause of this will be narrowed down soon, and a fix released. However, there’s no ETA on that yet at this point.

For now, let’s keep discussion centralized in that other forum thread. Please feel free to post there if you have more info.
