It looks as though the problem is that my image is .bmp instead of .jpg. I know b/c I just tried it with a .jpg and it worked. So now the question is, how do I convert a .bmp into a .jpg?

Google for, and then download Irfanview. This is an excellent freeware program that lets one view and manipulate image files.

Thanks skeezicks, do you know where I can get it for Mac? All the downloads I’ve seen are .exe files.

O.K. I found a program that works for Macs. However, once I uploaded my .jpg, it was much smaller than it appeared when I opened it on my Desktop. Also, when I copy it up to the post window and choose “Preview,” instead of the image I get the word ‘untitled.jpg’. Can s/b help me with these two…thx…!

Can’t help you much there because I’m not familiar with the program you used. (And I’m on a PC platform.) However, every imaging manipulation application I’ve ever seen have something that lets you “resize” and/or “resample” the image.

“Resize” implies a change in the size the image appears on the screen, while “resample” implies an increase or a decrease in the number of pixels your image will have. Perhaps the program’s default is to resample dow to 72 pixels per inch. If so, you’ll have to start with the original image and make sure the program is not resampling it.

Is the name of your new file “untitled.jpg”? If you can find such a file, rename it and see how that works.

Sorry I can’t be more help.
