Hi there, seems there is again a problem after an update of Ninja Forms with the checkbox field and a link i.e. to “the privacy” page in case of a GDPR checkbox.

Changing the page url just leads to the error “< This character is forbidden. Title and labels must not contain / ” < > ` characters.” Which makes no sense at all, because there is already a link in the checkbox label.

Seems a bug again. Some time ago after an update of Ninja forms all those links did not even work anymore.

    Thanks and regards

    Hi there,

I tried to reproduce the issue but was unable to do so on my sandbox server; it’s working fine. I’m using Ninja Forms v3.8.12 and WordPress v6.6.1, which means both are the latest versions.

If you’re using an outdated version of Ninja Forms, its add-ons, or WordPress Core, please upgrade to the latest version. If you’re already using the latest version, please get in touch with our Customer Success team and provide your System Report, as shown in the screenshot below, so we can take a closer look to resolve the issue.

Hi there Faisal and thank you for your input on this. Well my WordPress Version, as well as all plugins are always up-to-date. So it’s WordPress v6.6.1 and Ninja v3.8.12.

It is quite clear unfortunately. I moved the website from a developing url to go live today. That moment I saw that I did not change the link to the legal (new) page on the check-box label.

The error with Ninja v3.8.12 is obvious, On the dev site with Ninja v3.8.11 I can change the link to whatever I want. No problem at all. On the live website with v.3.8.12 I just get the error message mentioned above. I will just downgrade to v.3.8.11 for the moment I guess.

    Thanks again for your effort.

    Regards Thomas

Well, the problem is solved by downgrading ninja to v3.8.11!
