To get Yoast SEO working with Tabify, I tried all suggestions in this forum and on the Yoast support forum.

With the filter ‘wpseo_always_register_metaboxes_on_admin’ I can get the Yoast metabox to show up in Tabify, but then drag and drop of the metaboxes in Tabify does not work anymore.
Do you have any idea why?

In the FAQ you write about the filter ‘tabify_unattached_metaboxes_index’, to force unattached metaboxes to a certain tab. That would be a workaround for me. However I cannot get that to work, and I cannot find an example. Could you clearify this method with some example code?

    Thanks for the great plugin.

First of all, thank you for the detailed report and research.

I broke this with 0.9 release with adding a smart detection instead of having plugin support. Probably first will release a minor version with the plugin support back. So you still need to use a filter.

I will run the things you tried since I believe things will still break with the filter. Since its probably the same behavior as ‘ wpseo_always_register_metaboxes_on_admin’. Will do this in the weekend.

Hadn’t had a change to work on this for today’s release but will look into it for Sunday’s release.

I have tested today and hadn’t the same experience. Tested with the latest version of Yoast SEO.

I checked again in 2 different WordPress installs.
Both with WP 4.4.2, Yoast 3.0.7 and Tabify edit screen 0.9.3.

The Yoast metabox is just not showing up in the Tabify edit screen.
It is showing in the posts themselves, in the last tab.

Will check if the detection logic is kicking in in my case. Will do some more testing to check it out.
In general if this happens it’s to blame on the plugin developer but it doesn’t mean I’m not trying my best to find a way to still make it work.

I can see it now too. The new detection logic I’m writing now does work. You could check it out with this version: https://github.com/markoheijnen/tabify-edit-screen/archive/master.zip. Still need to store the data internally though

I’m moving the release of it to this Sunday so that I can test the changes better.
