• Hi,

Love the plugin! I see there is a shortcode option which can be used to wrap specific content on the page that we want to restrict. However, it is not working on our site.

We are using Elementor and have checked the “Age Gate this content” option in the WP page editor. The overlay correctly displays on page load and we can enter a date of birth.

However, the content is not displayed on the page (using either the Shortcode widget or the HTML widget) even if the user enters an age (e.g. 40) that passes the restriction settings.

Here’s what we have tried in the Elementor HTML widget:
    [age-gate age=”21″ title=””]
    Privacy Policy Terms of Use
    [/age-gate]

It looks like the content entered in those widgets is not appearing on any page, regardless of if we have enabled Age Gate on the page or not.

Are we doing something wrong or is it not possible to hide specific content this way? Thank you.

    Hi @irishrunner16,

Thanks for the report. I’ll have a look into it.

One question though, if you’re doing a full age gate, do you also need the shortcode?

    Will keep you posted

    Thanks
    Phil

    Hi again @irishrunner16,

This has been patched in 2.13.3. Don’t think elementor was really the root cause, there were just some bugs!

    Thanks
    Phil
