Age Gate Won’t Allow Access

  • This Age Gate plug-in is by far my favorite. However, a persisting issue for the last three months is that it will work fine for a few days, then suddenly won’t let anyone past. Typing in the month/day/year, then hitting submit just re-loads the age gate. No re-direct, nothing. Refreshing the page doesn’t help. I’ve read that it is a caching issue, but nothing has helped so far.
    It’s odd because as soon as I change it to JavaScript mode with Rest API for the endpoint, it will work on mobile, but not on desktop. Then I switch off JavaScript mode, and it will work for desktop, but not mobile.
    If there’s anything that you suggest that I can do, please let me know. Instead of constantly switching JavaScript mode off and on all the time. This is my preferred Age Gate due to the customization and it being a full-screen cover rather than a small box and a transparency like a lot of the others I’ve seen.

    Hi @jamesrrv,

    I’ve just had a look and both platforms worked for me.

    I’d make sure your caching isn’t caching the API endpoint too. Looking at the code of your site it looks like it’s using bat cache which I think has some ignore rules in the settings. If there’s nothing else you need to ignore, this should do it: /(\/wp-json\/age-gate\/(.*))/

    I am having a similar issue. Plugin was working fine then stopped working on desktop. I’ve turned all caching off, have cleared it, and am not getting any results.
