Age Verifier Not Showing

  • PLEASE NOTE: AGE VERIFIER IS CURRENTLY DE-ACTIVATED ON THIS SITE

    When age verifier is activated it isn’t showing at all. The home page is visible, but the menu & slider have disappeared & you can’t click on anything.
    Can you help?

    Were you using Easy Age Verifier before the update? If so, was it working at that time? If so, this might be related to an issue with your cache.

    I can’t really check beyond some best guesses if the plugin is deactivated, though.

    Yes we have been using it for around 5 months now. We don’t know an exact date when it went wrong, but recently. We went on the site today to find that it takes out the menu, slider and anything else under the age verifier unless deactivated.

    We had already cleared cache, but still didn’t work.

    We wanted to send you screen shots, but it’s harder to send you things on this thread.

    What do you need us to do now to help? We can activate it, just worried about it messing the site up for too long. Could give login details via email?

    Thanks for your patience! I pondered on this issue and realized that I really don’t have a way to properly debug this without the plugin being enabled, so I fixed that.

    I just updated the plugin to include a debug mode, which will disable the age verifier on your site, but will still enqueue the script so I can test/debug appropriately.

    When you can, please log into your site and follow these steps:

    1. Update Easy Age Verifier to 1.10
    2. Visit Age Verifier>>>Debug Verifier
    3. Click “Enable Debug Mode”

    Hello!

    I think the issue was caused by a cache issue on the previous version that was resolved in the update. I don’t see anything wrong with the verifier now.

    You can test it yourself – follow these steps:

    1. open up an incognito window on your browser
    2. Right click anywhere on the page and click “Inspect element” or “Inspect”. A “Developer Tools” window will pop up.
    3. At the top, there are several tabs. Click on “Console”
    4. In the console, exactly type verifier.getForm();. This will cause the age verifier to pop up.

    Hey Mel,

    After looking closer, I realized that the issue was due to a hiccup in the Javascript on some browsers. I have updated the plugin to 2.1.1, and believe this will resolve your issue when you update.

    Hello! It still appears to be working fine on my end.

    When I run the verifier script, the verifier pops up.

    To troubleshoot, check out “I’m in incognito mode and my form is still not showing up!”.

    Let me know if the verifier pops up for you.

    HI Alex,

    I have just deleted the age verifier and installed the latest version. It is activated and the site looks fine. However, I can’t get the verifier to actually show up. So one box ticked, but still not quite there. Can you see something I can’t?

    This is a silly issue this plugin has (terribly sorry).

    The solution is to go through each option in the Easy Age Verifier customizer page and change it ever so slightly (you can change it right back). This forces WP to write your changes to the database.

    So sorry! This came from the weird upgrades in the last week.
