• I am trying to use W3 Total Cache to help speed up this site: https://springfielddistillery.com/site. This is a distillery in the US so there has to be an age verification page that pops up whenever a user visits for the first time, no matter what page so the user can verify they are over 21 before looking at the site.

I am using the plugin Age Verify to do that https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/age-verify.

As soon as I enable Page Cache and Browser Cache a few issues happen with the age verification and it’s not super consistent. One day the age page didn’t pop up at all. Sometimes the age page pops up just fine, other times I can navigate to another page and it won’t pop up at all. I always clear my browser history and test it on multiple browsers.

I’m wondering if there is a way to cache everything except anything to do with the Age Verify plugin? Or is there something else I should do?

    Hello coknapp

Does age-verify plugin use any cookie? If so, you can tell W3TC to not cache those cookies. Like if the age-verify plugin use a cookie called wp-age-cookie, then go to Dashboard > Performance > Page Cache > Advanced > Rejected cookies and put “wp-age-cookie” in there.

    Have a good day!

It does have a cookie once a person confirms their age. But we’re having trouble with the Age Verify ever popping up for them to confirm their age. So will that work?

    Hello coknapp

Well, I am not 100% sure, but normally plugins like this maintain cookie to show or hide popup. If this plugin like that, once I fill the form, it sets a cookie and as long the cookie is valid, the popup won’t appear again. So, if this is the case, then Rejected cookies may work. Maybe worth giving a try?

    Have a good day!

    Cheers
