AH01797 – client denied by server configuration

  • Hi,

    For over a month I’ve had an intermittent 500 internal server error on my website.

    After 3 weeks of taking to my web host (Bluehost), hiring a web tech, and consulting cPanel tech support – I am being told that the error is caused by an issue only my web developer can fix.

    It has been tracked to these cPanel errors:

    AND

    [Sun Feb 09 08:48:06.737795 2020] [:error] [pid 563628:tid 139839529236224] [client 81.83.165.172:35933] SoftException in Application.cpp:630: Could not execute script “/home1/itchinf1/public_html/index.php”, referer: https://itchinforsomestitchin.com/ribbed-baby-beanie/

    —- I get this SoftException Application error for every single post on my website.

    All plugins have been tested and are fine. There are no server errors and my PHP has been updated to 7.3.13

    Can someone help me?

  • I think what I’d do is swap out the theme you are using for something else…

    That theme you are using is just totally messed up appearance-wise.

    I think the navigation is horribly broken.

    It acts like something internal is broken taking up so many resources you just don’t have a chance at reasonably presenting your site.

    Just grab a theme like maybe Frontier and try that for a time. Something nice but not real complicated.

    Hi,

    Thank so much for getting back to me. Your response actually confirms something I just figured out — apparently there is something internally broken on my website.

    Apparently there is something – and I don’t know what it is – that is recreating data/processes, etc.. constantly — my website has now bloated to over 50GB!

    It is causing a problem with the theme — the theme was really beautiful before this, but now the home page takes over 15 minutes to load and looks really messed up until it fully loads.

    I Bluehost has recommend a company called Bluesky to fix all these issues. Hopefully they can, otherwise, I think my only option is to get someone to rebuild my website.

    I’m not sure why but on a rescan I’m seeing some malware there, too. It didn’t show on the first scan I did.

    I would have thought your web host would have caught that or else the two consultants…

    But I’d suggest calling for some help…

    Hi,

    Thank you so much – I am not sure why no one caught it either or why it didn’t show up the first time.

    But, I get to talk to the BlueSky people first thing in the morning and I will ask them to double check for malware straight away.

    Malware was my first thought too when Bluehost told me that they cleared the server cache but all the processes are immediately being recreated.

    Even worse – I had installed a plugin that was causing an issue – it has since been deleted, but now I am concerned that it may have introduced some bugs into my site since all these issues started when I installed it. ??

    Anyway, thank you.

    Hopefully I can get this resolved quickly!
