AIOSEO Authentication loops that result in firewall blocks

I have just started experimenting with this plugin. I like it versus the alternatives and hope to use it. But I repeatedly face a serious problem that locks out my IP totally from the firewalls at my host.
When I try to upload an image to the Homepage Settings of the Social Meta tool (by going to the media gallery) it goes wrong. Firstly, no media gallery is shown, but a search field is shown. That fields gives no results or errors when used. What does happen after a try or two, is that a relogin is requested in that media gallery window, again and again and again… this results in our responsible hosting company blocking our IP each time. I had to contact them to request its removal every time. And I had no success selecting an image… The site, templates and plugins are all up to date and no other errors are shown.
Is this a known issue?
