    Hello,

We were facing issues with schedules backup. After investigating, we found that All in one WP Security was blocking wp-cron.php on some of our sites (not all of them), which was causing the backups to fail. Even though we had AIOWPS deactivated, the rules it added to our .htaccess and wp-config.php were still there, making it tricky to find out what the reason of these failed backups was! So, what we did is we enabled AIOWPS and turned off all of its settings and that got rid of the error when Backupbuddy and WordPress were trying to use wp-cron.php.

As you know, everything scheduled within wordpress runs on wp-cron.php and since that was blocked, no scheduled actions were running on our sites. Scheduled actions such as checks for updates, scheduled posts, backup schedules, scheduled cleanups, etc.

Can you let me know which options in AIOWPS are likely to cause that?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Best regards,
    Florence.

Hi, just one question did you enabled the following Automated Scheduled Backups found under WP Security -> Database Security -> DB Backup in the plugin?

In regards to the following comment.

After investigating, we found that All in one WP Security was blocking wp-cron.php on some of our sites (not all of them),

I am curios to know why it blocked only some sites and not all sites? What is the difference from the sites that it blocked and the sites that it did not block?

    We’re curious too ??

It can only be related to specific settings in AIOWPS. Remember: when we turn all features off, it’s working. That’s why I was asking you this question: “which options in AIOWPS are likely to cause that?”.

If you can’t answer this question, we’ll have no choice but to turn every option on, one by one, until we find the culprit.

    Best regards,
    Florence.

I am not sure which option might be triggering this issue in your sites. I think enabling one by one until you run into the culprit setting would be the best action to take. Once you find the culprit can you share your findings here. This would help others that might come across a similar issue as you.

    Thank you
