  • Hi @mbrsolution , please actually read my message because I don’t need a new support thread. I am just confirming that like @apblog the solution was to stop blocking ‘fake’ googlebots.

Hi @faracademy, I understand what you mean. However I have been using Yoast SEO and this plugin for many years and I have never experienced this issue.

However, if you would like us to try and troubleshoot your issue please consider opening a new support thread. It is always best to troubleshoot one issue per user at a time.

Thank you for also sharing your issue and thoughts.

    Kind regards.

    Hi @mbrsolution,

Just want to add that I have too have just had this problem and its down to the block all fake Googlebots setting. I turn this off, test the sitemap and it works again.

Something the developers need to look at as its really damaging to websites!

    Thanks

Hi @nicksws, I just carried out another test in my site just to verify this again. It is working well in my site and Google.

For my test I typed the following URL in the browser mysite.com/sitemap_index.xml and it works for me.

I also forgot to mentioned and point out the title of this thread which is, AIOWPS blocking sitemap_index.xms generated by Yoast

In the above, the URL ends in xms. That does not work for me in my site. I am not sure if that was a typo error or not. It should be sitemap_index.xml.

Let me know if the above helps in any way.

    Kind regards
