I have been using All In One WP Security & Firewall for almost a year now without issue.
While I do not use the authenticator cookie option, I have been using the /wp-admin redirect security option to redirect the dashboard login page to a URL of my choosing.

While this has been a great additional layer of security that has worked flawlessly until now, unfortunately out of nowhere, this is no longer the case. When I attempt to log into the dashboard at the redirect page, I am instead redirected to a 404-page error.

In fact, the only way I can actually log in, is I have to go to my cPannel and delete the app altogether. This unfortunately also deletes all my recapta and honeypot settings, and all other security and firewall settings. Unfortunately, this does not seem to delete any of the settings data, however, when I reinstall the plugin I immediately have the same 404-page error as soon as the plugin is activated.

I keep all of my plugins up to date, so that isn’t an issue, nor did this error begin after any update. Is this a known issue? Is there a way to resolve this or at least remove the redirect setting so I can keep using the other security features if that is what I must do?

    UPDATE:

I have of course tried the AIOWPS Reset Plugin, following the support instructions to the letter, but every time I click the settings button as instructed, I get a message saying “sorry your are not allowed to access this page”.

After some further investigation, I found a support ticket which addresses this issue directly. However I have deactivate every plugin, one at a time, as advised until every plugin was disabled except for the reset plugin, and still get the same “sorry your are not allowed to access this page” message. while this proves the error is not connected to a plugin conflict, it does not resolve either my settings reset issue or the original issue of not being able to use the AIOWPS plugin.

    UPDATE:

After reading T&T HQs Important Note on Intermediate and Advanced Features post, I viewed my .htaccess and made note that all the AIOWPS edits had already been removed. That said, I still restored mt backup .htaccess file using the cPannel. I than attempted to reinstall the AIOWPS plugin, but am still redirected to the 404-page as soon as the plugin is activated.

Please note that when I remove the plugin, I have no issues accessing my dashboard, however, I loose access as soon as the plugin is activated. I have not made any changes to the plugin setting or made any update to the plugin for months, and before yesterday, I had no issues with either the plugin or the website in general. This is not an issue of user error in which a change was made which then broke the site.

    Hi,

Can you check wether you have your permalink settings set to “plain”
If that’s the case then your hidden login URL will have a different format:
    yoursite.com/?xyz

@twistedengineering @vupdraft For the reset Settings, You can go to Admin Dashboard > Settings and click on the “Reset Settings” button.

Hi, I’m having the same problem with redirecting to page 404 when I try to login. I would like to know, how do I delete the plugin by cPannel, how I identify it, finally the whole procedure. Thank you very much for your help.

Login to your cPanel and go to File Manager
Navigate to your WordPress installation folder. Example – Public_html/MyWordpress
Locate your plugin folder that is located in here: Public_html/MyWordpress/wp-content/plugins
There you will find all the plugins that you have installed in your WordPress
    Find “all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall” and delete it
