AIS could also be extended to update border of caption

I admire and am thankful for this plugin and would like to request an addition. If you have a image caption, the photo border moves but the caption doesn’t widen. I explain a hard coded solution in this post https://jgieseking.org/setting-borders-and-padding-on-images-and-caption-in-wordpress-3-9/ but perhaps this could be added to the next version of AIS?
