The plugin hangs when saved in admin. I have no health problems nor do I have a conflict with a plugin. I deactivated all except the woo commerce, and storefront plugins.
This problem started some few weeks ago so I waited for the update. I installed the aioseo and reinstalled twice to see if it was an install error. This being between 12 may and today. Some assistance please.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @oceanswardrobe1, can you please open the browser error console by right clicking anywhere on a screen that hangs and then select Inspect. In the developer tools pane, click on the Console tab. Then reload the page and see if there are any errors which will show up in red. Please take a screenshot of any errors and provide it to us.

Than you . This the screen shot of the first page in wizard. All other pages have the same hang problem.
There appears to be no way of attaching this error page image . This is what is seen as console errors.

    I hope this helps

Hi @oceanswardrobe1, the problem is happening because something has disabled or is interfering with the WordPress REST API. Plugins such as AIOSEO use the WordPress REST API in order to communicate with WordPress, i.e. save settings.

Can you please try deactivating all plugins except All in One SEO and switch to the default Twenty Twenty One theme and see if that resolves the problem.

You can easily check if the WordPress REST API is working by going to this link – https://oceanswardrobe.xen.co.za/wp-json/wp/v2/pages. That will return a list of your pages. Currently it returns a blank screen for me, which is how we know this is a REST API issue.

You can also check under Tools > Site Health and you should see a warning in there about the REST API.

Thank you site health sadly does not show the API issue. I will try the deactivation suggestion.regards

    Hi @oceanswardrobe1,

We haven’t heard back from you in a couple of weeks, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Thanks! ??
