    Hello everybody
I tried to use this plugin. It work good on local host and it do not work on real hosting. It look like ajax is not working on real hosting(I can’t place mailchimp API – I write it but it look like plugin no see it or can’t send data to mailchip). Is it possible that ajax do not work in hosting? I use real hosting not long time and I do not know many about it.
    Thanks for answers!

    Hi @vrpr,

I have not seen issues with hosted environments, but I have seen issues when other plugins (or your host) has set up ‘optimization’ methods for you site; this includes things like re-minifying the files, compressing them, moving them into a CDN/cache, etc. Do you know if this is going on on your site?

Also, could you send a URL to your site so I could look for any obvious errors with the AJAX submission?

    Cheers,
    Kevin.

    Kevin,
    Thank for your answer.
No, I do not know is my hosting use any re-minifying or compressing.
When I use this plugin I must write API key for MailChimp in admin part – I write this and I see word “Not Connectid”.

    Hi vrpr,

I see – the issue is that your MailChimp API key is not working. First, make sure you have the right key. If your key is correct and it does not work (i.e. you still receive the message ‘Not Connected’) then please wait around 30 minutes and try again; usually it’s the server timing out requests to MailChimp’s server. Have you tried your API key again today?

    Hi Kevin
Yesterday this key was working for site in local host and do not working on real hosting.
I have got new key (it was 1 minutes ago – maybe I must wait? ) – it is not working with old key and with new key too.
Do you never see problem like this?
I send letter to hosting provider. Maybe they will tell anything.

Hmm, I really don’t think it’s the plugin that is causing the API key to fail. I would try to reset your API cache (see instructions: https://yikesplugins.com/support/knowledge-base/api-cache-settings/) and then try adding your new MailChimp API key.

Please let me know if it’s still not working and we can try more advanced troubleshooting methods.

    Hi Kevin

Unfortunately I can not reset my API cache – button “Clear MailChimp API Cache” is not active.

And all is working on local host – letter about subscribtion come to e-mail that I write in form. And then I pressed “Yes, subscribe me to this list.” – I see this e-mail in list in mailchimp.

    Hi vrpr,

I hope your host has some insight as to the issue; maybe they are whitelisting/blacklisting URLs or IP addresses and MailChimp falls within the blacklist? I would ask them if they know of any issues with connecting to MailChimp’s APIs.

We have a new release of the plugin coming next week(ish); so if neither I or your host can solve the issue by then hopefully the new version will!

    Hi Kevin

I have make site on free hosting (www.000webhost.com) and place your plugin – it is working!

I have got answer from hosting provider, but they write that they do not think about wordpress – it is not their question. I do not ask them about blacklist yet. I will ask.

Yes, I think it is any problem on hosting.

    Hi @vrpr,

Some goods new and some bad news, huh? It sounds like you have enough information to explain to your provider the issue in detail; hopefully they can resolve it. I’m going to mark this ticket as resolved, but if you have more questions on this topic please feel free to continue posting and I will try to resolve them.

    Cheers,
    Kevin.
