Ajax Add to Cart – Disable Scroll to Top

    Hi Oceanwp team,

    I would like to find out how to disable the Scroll to Top component of the Ajax add to cart feature in my website menu.

    I love the fact that when somebody adds a product to cart the basket pops up but I find it a problem for user experience that the page then Scrolls all the way to the top because if somebody is browsing the products on my website and they have scrolled down quite far and then they add something to the cart they go all the way to the top of the page and then they have to scroll all the way down again.

    Is there some way that the cart still pops open to show the newly added product but it does not scroll all the way to the top of the page?

  • Hello @happyhealthyhonesthuman,

    Please head over to Customizing > WooCommerce > General and find the “Display Cart When Product Added” option and make sure it’s disabled: https://i.postimg.cc/85V7DCSC/image.png.

    Note: if you have any cache plugin or server cache(CDN / Browser Cache and Cookies and …), you need to clear its cache contents or disable them to see your changes.

    Hi Shahin,

    I was hopping the basket could still be displayed when a product is added to the cart, but that the page would not scroll all the way to the top at the same time.

    It is fine that it displays, it is the automatic scroll to top of the page that I was hoping could be avoided.

    Anyway, thanks, for now I will do as you recommended. It is not ideal but better than the scroll to top function that I think will harm user experience, because then they will need to scroll all the way down to where they were again.
