Ajax add/remove from cart button

I’m using “do_action( ‘woocommerce_after_shop_loop_item’ ); ” to display an ajax add to cart button. It works as designed, but I would like it to act a bit differently.
On first click, the item should be added to the cart. On a second click, remove the item from the cart.
