This is a bug in the current version. It took me a while to track down, but I’m pretty certain I have fixed it in the development version. If you were able to test the dev version and provide any feedback as to whether it does / doesn’t solve the problem, that would be very helpful!

Dear Ross,

After running some tests with the development version, I’ve found that it resolved the bug appropriately. The AJAX functions work fine now, consistently and without any JS errors. Thanks so much for your help with this!

P.S. If I may suggest a stylistic change, would you mind changing the name of the options submenu page to just “Google Calendar”, so that it could all appear on one line instead of on two? I think it would look much more visually pleasing. ??

I just noticed an additional bug. When the feed is set to load all events in the current month and out to the end of time, on the page grid, in the tooltip, it doesn’t display the date for the events in the current month at the top of the list; but when one returns to the current month from a later month (via AJAX), the date is displayed appropriately. (If you’d like me to create a separate thread for this bug, just say so.) Thanks again!

Good catch! I’ll make sure this is fixed in the next release.

I’ve thought about changing the options submenu name before, but I wasn’t sure if simply “Google Calendar” might imply an official Google product, possibly causing confusion, but I guess that’s pretty unlikely. Perhaps “GCE” could work? It’s certainly short!

Ha, that’s funny. You became a victim of the spam filters. Ah, the world we live in. That said, in response to your initial reply, I agree. Let’s keep you out of any legal trouble (like trademark infringement) by steering clear of “Google Calendar”. GCE would definitely work, as would “Calendar of Events”.

And if you went with “Calendar of Events”, you’d have the option to incorporate more functionality in the future, like added support for CalDAV protocols, allowing users of MobileMe — er…iCloud — to incorporate their calendars with their WordPress blogs as well. (As a user of MobileMe, I’m drooling at this idea.)
