    Hi Tobias,

    Error is

Saving failed: AJAX call successful, internal saving process failed. Try again while holding down the “Shift” key.

I have already read a few thread discussing this issue. However, I have deduced that my issue only occurs when I use certain HTML within a cell. For example

    <p class="tablecolours" style="background-color: #b1b6b2">Some text here</p>

Removing either class or style does not make a difference but removing both, for example

    <p>Some text here</p>

    and it saves fine.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers. Steve

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

I’m not really sure what’s causing this, but here I assume that some other plugin is messing with the quotation marks (as those are present in both those HTML attributes).

Can you therefore please check if this happens with all other plugins deactivated and after switching to a WordPress default theme like TwentyFifteen?

    Regards,
    Tobias

I’ve tried that Tobias, plugins and theme, still the same issue. It’s not just your plugin either, Gravity Forms has the exact same problem i.e. cannot save a form using quotation marks.

We have a Multisite setup and also use Sucuri for firewall and caching. I’m not sure if this may be part of the problem, but I have been clearing cache when checking the issue.

    Hi,

that somehow indicates that the server might play a role here as well. For example, there could be something like mod_security that is blocking the requests, maybe for security reasons (although that would be too strict here).

    Hi Tobias,

A small confession ?? I never checked for a conflict with Domain Mapping by WPMU because I didn’t want the sites to go down. But, you guessed it, that is what is causing the conflict.

I’ve informed the author and they confirmed the conflict. Still waiting for a fix.

    Cheers. Steve

    Hi Steve,

thanks for the update! Good to hear that you found the cause for this and that they are willing to look into it!

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
