AJAX error when comment is marked as spam by Akismet

    On our blog with CommentPress we also had the problem that certain comments did not work, but generated AJAX errors as reported in previous threads on CommentPress.

    In our case the problem seems to be that CommentPress cannot react properly if wordpress marks a comment as spam.

    The user does not get a proper error message that his comment was marked as spam, but an AJAX error ??

    The latest version of the plugin (3.6) contains a fix for this issue. Thanks again for the report, doebeli – it’s hard to find this sort of stuff. Let me know if it fixes the issue for you.

    Thanks! Fixes the issue in the spam case. We had reports that there are AJAX-errors without something beeing rejected by Akismet, but we were not able to reproduce the errors up to now.

    Perhaps interesting for you as plugin-author: We are using the plugin for making accessible and commentable conference proceedings for an eLearning-conference starting next week: https://2014.gmw-online.de The conference proceedings were available 4 week before the conference start.

    Thanks for the link too. Can I ask why you chose the older two-column theme instead of the newer, responsive theme?

    The older theme seemed nicer and we were not fully aware that the new theme was responsive :-/
