• hello, i am having probelms with this chat program and i think ajax might have something to do with it. the problem is that users need to refresh the page in order to use the chat in any way other than only reading the messages. now as a radio station website this will kill the stream player until the user activates it again, i do not know if this is an issue with my theme because before today i was using the soundwave theme, i now use musicplay from theme forest and have the same problem, this is a fresh theme installation so i have not yet had a chance to customize. which i will spend a good chunk of today doing, but if you visit this link very shortly after i hit send the chat may be very difficult to see. just warning you that it may be easier for you to diagnose the issue if you don’t get to this one immediately. but i bought a new theme in hopes that that was the issue, which i now think is not the case, any help provided would be GREATLY appreciated

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

it’s also worth noting that if you land directly on this page whether it be by clicking a link from another website or entering the url directly into your address bar, everything works fine, but if you take a link on the website to that page you need to refresh before you can use anything

I just replicated this issue. I installed the free version of Wise Chat for testing before purchasing the Pro version.

After inserting the Chat on a page, I was able to enter text and hit send. But the messages did not display until upon page reload.

WordPress Version 5.6, default theme (Twenty Fifteen Version: 2.8).

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

So…when I set the AJAX Engine to Lightweight AJAX and/or Default, the messages appear in the chat box as expected. It is only when setting the ENGINE to Ultra Lightweight that they only appear upon page reload.

What type of server load impact / performance improvement will Ultra offer over Lightweight? Any chance this may be addressed in an update coming soon?

    @robertc85
FYI: This is done from Wise Chat Settings -> Advanced -> AJAX Engine.

i contacted the creator of the theme and they stated that the theme when in ajaxified mode will produce this issue, i wish i had purchased a non ajax theme with a non stop music player, but i don’t know of any.

    Hello @robertc85 @agreda

I will be releasing a new version of Wise Chat. It will address an issue that causes a similar effect to those described by you. Please update it.

    Best regards

Will you fix the making website scroll issue though ?

@mrman666 Please contact us directly on https://kaine.pl I need to check your chat page directly. Most probably your theme affects the chat somehow.

new version of Wise Chat…Please update it.

FYI: Updating to Free Wise Chat v.2.9.5 did not resolve the issue for us. Messages posted by users do not instantly appear in Chat with Ultra Lightweight Ajax engine selected. Others in chat do see message and hear notification. But page must be reloaded for user who sent the message to see it in the chat.

We’ll be using the Lightweight Ajax Engine for now, since that works as expected.

Thanks for the hard work and quick support!
