AJAX loader recommendation?

I have a list of about 100 shortcodes (i.e. [shortcode ID=”1″ arg1=”X” arg2=”Y”] ) that I’d like to put in a select list (dropdown) and then let the user load each shortcode in a dive by selecting it from the dropdown.

It’s been suggested I use AJAX to accomplish this. I see plugins, but they all seem focused on loading pages or posts – -I just want to load a single piece of shortcode.

Any suggestions on how best to go about this? I suppose I could create a page or post for each piece of shortcode, but that seems kind of clunky.
