The plugin doesn’t work on my website when I use a nextgen gallery in AJAX. When I move the page to another that loads using AJAX, the lightbox simply doesn’t work. I am being forced to use the internal plugin within Nextgen Gallery to be able to use a lightbox.
I would like to know if there is any solution for this? I’ve tried everything, including setting it to “Custom” in the nextgen gallery. Only when I use AJAX in the photo gallery does this problem occur. Everything else on the site is working normally with the plugin.

Hi @sonicgyn – To confirm your question/issue…. The fancybox lightbox is working fine for you, and fine for NextGEN Galleries EXCEPT when using NextGEN Gallery alongside ajax? Is that right?

If so, I’ll play around with that in the next day or two and see what I can figure out. I suspect what may be happening is that Easy Fancybox adjusts the markup using JavaScript to make the lightbox work. That happens once when the page loads. But then NextGEN loads additional images via ajax which do not have the Fancybox markup.

I think we’d need to find a way to re-fire some of our own JavaScript each time NGG adds a new batch of images like that. I just need to explore if that’s possible and how.

    Hi @firelightwp

That’s right, the plugin works on all images, and in all galleries normally. However, when the gallery has several pages and I change to the next page in AJAX (page 1 to 2 for example), and click on the image loaded by AJAX it simply doesn’t work, and the image is opened without any lightbox. I’m being forced to use “lightbox effects” within nextgen, because that’s the only way it works, and I had to deactivate the plugin to avoid conflicts.

If you want to reproduce the problem, just create a gallery and post it in “basic thumbnails” and there you have “Enable AJAX pagination”. Practically no lightbox plugins are working, and I’ve tested several, just the “lightbox effects” within nextgen.

The only plugin I found that worked with nextgen was “ARI Fancy Lightbox” because it appears within nextgen to enable it, so even with ajax turned on, it works without problems.

Thanks for the additional details. I wanted to confirm I can duplicate this issue. I’ll look more in the next 1-2 days to see if I can find a solution.

Hi @sonicgyn – I have good news and bad news.

Your note compelled me to fully review the plugin’s integration with NextGEN Gallery. There were actually a few different issues, and I’ve resolved them. So that’s good.

The downside is that the fix for ajax pagination, specifically, is in Pro. A lot of the third party integration code, including NextGEN code lives there. So I kept the code there.

I assume you are a free-only user. It seems not-quite-right for me to fix an issue you reported in a plugin which you cannot access. Given that, if you reach out at firelightwp.com/contact, I’ll arrange to get you a copy of Pro with a 6 month license.

    Thanks again for the report.
