ajax-pagination in a photo gallery

This may be a noob question, but I’ve searched a lot to no avail.

I’m looking for a plugin that will let me insert a photo gallery with pagination. That is, a grid of thumbnails, with say 10 thumbnails per page. And the pagination should be AJAX, i.e. there should be no page reload when I switch pages.

I’ve installed and used NextGEN Gallery, which claims to have an “Ajax Pagination” option, but it doesn’t work in my site: the gallery paginates correctly but with a page reload each time.

The odd thing is that I haven’t been able to even find a single demo or example of Ajax pagination. If I could find an example I could at least use the same plugin and throubleshoot from there.

Could somebody show me a working example of a gallery with Ajax pagination?
