Ajax vs CPU performance

  • I have a dedicated quad-core server with 32GB of memory.
    I have a website with about 5k/daily visitors and using comet cache.

    Normal average load is < 1, but when I change ‘Load Results with Ajax’ to ‘Yes’, the average load spikes to 100+ and brings the site to a crawl. Is there anything I can do?

    Hello, and happy new year!

    With that setting enabled, this usually happens on cheap hosting when a lot of ratings are loaded in the same page.
    Can you please share a link to the page?

    Btw, I’m already working on this, but don’t have an ETA yet for the fixed release.

    No sorry it’s NSFW, but I did disable voting on archive pages, and the load only goes up to 10 or so that way, which is something I think I can work with. Thanks!
