Akismet 2.5.2 crashes the server

  • For some odd reason and I know this was an issue with earlier releases of Akismet but it seems to persist. When I active the plug in with the API and all, it crashes the server. After a little while I can access the server but anytime I try to access plugins it takes me to a “server side” 404 page. Even after I deactivate it, for some time I get the dreaded 404. And it doesn’t matter what page I try to access the 404 will simply reference that page.

    Any suggestions?
    By the way, tried reinstalling it manually through FTP.

    Still nothing.

  • A 404 error? That would indicate that the page could no longer be found. Not sure exactly how that would relate to Akismet.

    Did you check the web server error logs? We’ll need more info to determine exactly what is going on.

    It seems to happen every time I activate Akismet.
    I will post the error logs once I can get it.
