Akismet and bbPress

Hi,
I was wondering whether bbPress actually is using the Akismet services plugin?
Reason being, I see piles of similar Spam Replies and Topics in my bbPress Pending queue that are almost identical to the detected Spam that Akismet is finding.
Ideas?
