Akismet dissapeared form plugins page and….

  • tired to add it again but receive an error….

    Called host company regarding all the spam we were receiving – they deactivated/reactivated account. During that process Akismet was removed from the plugins page…It is on the server, but not in the Plugins page, therefore SPAM galore again…..

    So I tried to add it as a new plugin and receive this error:

    Destination folder already exists. /home/jkecomm1/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/akismet/

    Plugin install failed.

    Hope this makes sense.

  • Do you have ftp-access to your site?
    If so, open wp-content folder, open plugins folder, open akismet folder, mark and delete all the files, go back out to plugins folder, mark and delete akismet folder.
    If you don’t have ftp-access, tell your provider to do it for you.
