Akismet for Post type content?

  • I tried searching for this but the ubiquity of the words involved made it nearly impossible to find anything. I am wondering if there is a way to configure Akismet to check whether posts themselves are spam? It seems like this should be an obvious option but I’m not finding it. I want to have an open registration single blog but I quickly learned that akismet wasn’t stopping spam in that way. Any help finding out more about this would be quite appreciated!
