Akismet is an excellent service BUT

  • The process for obtaining an API key is more than a little convoluted.
    The code sometimes produces messages when WP_DEBUG is true.
    Not sure why Jetpack hijacks the Akismet admin menu items.
    Not sure how effective the Auto delete function is.
    The numbers don’t add up!
