Akismet is WAY to sensitive!

  • Akismet is blocking a lot of non-spam comments. right now it has blocked 50% of the comments made on the site (just opened) is there no way to change the settings to make it less strict? Or should I take it off and use another spam filter.

    The only stuff I want to block are people spamming there websites or saying things like: “Fuck you! noob.”

  • Akismet checks the comment(er)s against all kinds of blacklists, so the comments blocked are mostly coming from known spammers. You can ‘unspam’ the comments and Akismet will ‘learn’ from this.
