Akismet says caught but it is still showing in sidebar

  • Akismet and Bad Behaviour are both installed and doing a great job of keeping away spam, however, when Akismet catches and marks spam it is still showing up as a comment on the side bar of the blog. The comments are showing up in the Dashboard under Akismet Spam, not under moderation or comments, but they are visible in the sidebar under “recent comments” on the actual blog.

    Does anyone know why it would still show up on the blog instead of needing to be moderated or automatically deleted after 15 days? I have been having to manually delete everything.

    The blog address is https://www.seweasysewing.com/WordPress/. I just deleted the newest spam so there probably aren’t any currently visible.

  • It’s hard to guess what’s happening without enough information. Did you install a plugin to display comments in the sidebar … and, if so, which plugin was it?

    Akismet
    Autometa
    Bad Behavior
    Calendar
    Hello Dolly (not active)
    Subscribe Me
    Fuzzy Recent Post (not active)
    Simple Tags
    WordPress Database Backup
