• I have two blogs, but one has been allowing SPAM comments to enter via Kramer.

After several frustrating weeks… I just noticed something WEIRD tonight.

In the Dashboards on blog 1, on the right side under Latest Activity is a section:

    Spam
Akismet has protected your site from 37 spam comments.

    BUT

On Blog 2, this does not appear and THAT is the blog I am having SPAM problems on. Both are 2.03 and both use the latest versions of Akismet (and Kramer). Both are hosted on the same servers.

Anybody got any bright ideas what is going on?

    Thanks

    TG

  • Don’t smack me, but I have to ask: Is akismet activated and had a key provided on that second blog?

    What’s Kramer?

Not at all a bad Q as I should have put that in the first Post.

Yes, Akismet has been activated and an API Key used.

    Kramer is a plugin. See:

I fail to see the point of Kramer. Pingbacks/trackbacks…they already work fine. Kramer seems to be doing technorati searches in order to fake pingbacks. Why bother?

I’d junk Kramer, but that’s just my opinion, of course.

OK… elimination the Kramer thing… can anyone suggest why Akismet is not appearing in my dashboad for one of the blogs?

You say it doesn’t appear on the front page/dashboard.
Do you have the “Akismet Configuration” appear under Plugins?
Do you have the “Akismet Spam” appear under Manage?

If none of these three shows up, then my guess is that you have not activated the Akismet plugin.

If only some of them are missing, then perhaps you should check the Akismet Configuration screen and type in your API key.
