Album Description

There is no way to set a description to show in the album templates, but there might be another solution:

You can create a gallery (not an album) where the thumbnails point to a custom URL and set the “link to” setting to custom URL. Set the custom URL to the page URL’s for each gallery. Then you can choose your caption descriptions and clicking on a thumb will take you to the gallery.

This is a bit more work, but it will give you what you want. I hope that makes sense?

You embed an album on a page using the album shortcode.
So all you need to do is find the page and get the URL of the page

Thanks for your reply. If I do not want to create every new page for every gallery created, I’m still able to point to the gallery with the slug right?

Is the custom url something like this appending ‘gallery’ in front
–> gallery/my-gallery-slug

If you create an album (default album template), then embed it on a page, then you can access galleries like

https://yoursite.com/album-page-slug/gallery/gallery-slug

But it will not work outside of that album page. For example,

https://yoursite.com/gallery/gallery-slug

will not work unfortunately.
