    Hello,

our customers are having some difficulties sometimes leaving a review.

In fact if the review must be moderated, as it is on our installation, after that a review is wrote and sent, the customer do not receive any confirm about the fact that the review is sent and that he/she must wait a manual approval. The page reloads and the game ends there without any communication. How the customer can understand that the review is sent? Sometimes customers write the review again and again, because they think that it doesn’t arrive.

From our point of view the best thing would be that the customer receives an alert just like when it add a product to the cart on the first row of the page. Something like “Review received. It will be published soon!”.

Does it sounds good for you? I know that it could sound as feature request, but from our point of view it is something that should be already there.

    Thanks.

  • Hello @griotta ,

I just tested on a fresh installation of WooCommerce and Storefront theme. I enabled the comment moderation before publishing.

So, after I have submitted my review on a product it showed me that the review is awaiting approval. This is a default WooCommerce message that comes from \woocommerce\templates\single-product\review-meta.php file.

In case your theme or any other plugin is overriding this behavior I will recommend trying with the default theme i.e. Storefront first. If your theme is not showing this message, please contact your theme developer for suggestions.

    Thank you ??

    Hello @rur165,

as you easily see, it isn’t really intuitive for a Customer.

In fact the Customer need to come back to the review area to see that its review is waiting approval. Why he/she should do that? What I say is that an alert on the top of the page could help the Customer to understand it more quickly that its job is finished and that he/she can close the page.

When you add to the cart a product, a clear alert on the first row of the page show that the product was been added to the cart. It is a quick way to tell it to the Customer that can choose to go the cart or click to another page.

Same with reviews. It’s not always easy to convince them to leave a review… if they do it, it’s better to confirm quickly that we received the comment and they can leave the page.

    Thanks.

    Hello @griotta ,

    I understand your point.

However, I am unable to find a suitable solution that works like this right now. You can submit your idea in this WooCommerce forum for consideration.

Adding this feature only will require some customization. I’m going to leave it open for a bit to see if anyone is able to chime in to help you out.

I can also recommend the WooCommerce Developer Resources Portal for resources on developing for WooCommerce.

You can also visit the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there, as well.

If you need a paid solution, you can consider taking help from one of our partner’s website.

    Thank you ??
